Sinem Bilgen 
M.A. in Applied Psychology & Psychotherapist 

Place and Year of Birth: Adana, 1973 
Education: 1991: Tarsus American College / 1995: Istanbul University, Faculty of Economics, Economics (English-medium program) / 2018: Üsküdar University, Institute of Social Sciences, Master's Degree in Applied Psychology (with thesis). 
 

After completing many trainings over the course of her professional career, she began her career in psychology, a field she had always been deeply interested in, with the Applied Psychology Master's program (with thesis) at Üsküdar University. She completed the program by developing the first Turkish Emotional Eating Scale. 
 

Since 2016, she has completed foundational and advanced training abroad in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), one of the leading third-wave therapies. She completed her Cognitive Behavioral Therapy training in Türkiye at the KDTD (Association for Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies) and earned the title of EABCT-accredited therapist. 
 

She has participated in numerous international ACT training programs and continues to further her training. Since 2017, she has received ongoing individual training from leading international ACT trainers. She is also receiving training in Interpersonal Behavior Therapy (IBT) and Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP) from Glenn M. Callaghan, one of the field's pioneering trainers and therapists. 
 

In addition, she has completed foundational training abroad in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), as well as foundational and advanced training in Compassion Focused Therapy for Eating Disorders. 
 

Since 2013, she has represented Türkiye at national and international congresses and taken part in many working groups at these events. 
 

She currently serves as General Coordinator of the Bilgen Therapy Institute and works alongside Dr. İbrahim Bilgen as an assistant trainer in ACT trainings. 
 

Sinem Bilgen draws on the knowledge she gained through her undergraduate, graduate and other training, along with her personal experience, first to help people and then to contribute to the field of psychology. She also brings this experience into her workshops.
